Putnam County Attorney Indicted

A Putnam County attorney faces federal criminal charges.

A federal grand jury indicted Winfield bankruptcy attorney Patrick B. Anderson this week. The indictment alleges Anderson defrauded the federal government by advising a Putnam County couple to transfer the ownership of its mobile home on Harmon's Creek Road in Putnam County to their daughter before filing for bankruptcy.

The indictment alleges Anderson prepared the new deed in February 2007 and then helped the couple file for bankruptcy, failing to include the mobile home as belonging to the couple.
