Dave especially excelled in the discus and weight lifting. From 1976 to 1987 Dave was the National Discus Champion eight times, setting both national and world records in the even against other amputee men. His greatest honor came at the 1984 Olympic Games for Disabled where he won a gold medal in discus and a silver medal in weight lifting.
Dave married Judith Blattner in 1979 and they have five children. Dave is active in the Assembly of God Church where he serves as an elder and treasurer. |
